Hi, I'm Mia.
I'm a list person (ahem, please see below).
I am an emerging Asian American writer of immigrant fiction short stories, mythology-inspired YA novels, with fiction found in The South Shore Review and Bright Flash Literary Review. I was named a semi-finalist to the 2023 Scribes Prize, pending final results. My writing has placed in the top 5% of the Bridport Prize.
I'm a daughter of immigrants, with a penchant for writing originating from Iowa City, IA.
I started a book club among close friends and family that has covered everything from Ali Wong to Jill Lepore.
I'm currently a graduate degree candidate in Creative Writing at Harvard University in Cambridge, MA.
I have studied under noteworthy, published writers including Elisabeth Sharp McKetta, Daphne Kalotay, Mary Sullivan Walsh, and Shubha Sunder.
